Douglas E. Koogler, age 53, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Doug was a member of Tri State Gun Collectors. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Koogler and brother, Joseph P. Koogler. Doug is survived by his mother, Joan C. Koogler, of Huber Heights; daughter, Maria (David Martin) Koogler, of Dayton; son, Eric (Lacy) Koogler, of Dayton; Carmen Salas, the mother of his children; sister, Deanna Russell, of Dayton; brothers, Dean (Nancy) Koogler, of Huber Heights; Dale (Marilyn) Koogler, of Enon; grandchildren, Bryce, Mia, and Ava; and numerous other relatives and friends. Family will greet friends from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Reis Legacy Center Meyer-Boehmer Chapel, 6661 Clyo Rd., Centerville. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doug's memory to Box 21 Rescue or Buckeye Search and Rescue Dogs.
